Kingman Turquoise
Kingman Turquoise is one of the most famous stones in the world. Turquoise has been mined in this area for over a thousand years. Just North of Kingman Arizona the mines produce many different colors and varieties. From deep blue with black, red and brown matrix to forest green with red and brown matrix. Kingman is one of our favorite stones to work with.
Candelaria Hills Turquoise
Candelaria Hills Turquoise is by far my favorite Turquoise to work with. This Turquoise produces some of the most beautiful electric blue colors with either red or black spiderweb matrix. The mine is located in Esmeralda County Nevada near the historic town of Tonopah. The mine has closed to Turquoise production making Candelaria a rare find.
Alacran (Scorpion) Turquoise
The Alacran mine, located in Sonora Mexico just south of the famous Bisbee Turquoise Mine near the Arizona border, produces many different beautiful varieties. From blues to it's most famous greens. With golden to caramel colored host rock this stone is a real treat to work with.
Campitos Turquoise
The Campitos mine, located in Sonora Mexico just south of the famous Bisbee Turquoise Mine near the Arizona border, produces some of the most unique stones in the world. This Turquoise forms as nuggets in clay deposits instead of cracks in the host rock. This also produces it's distinctive pyrite inclusions. Tiny quartz crystals can also be found as part of this stone.
Number 8 Turquoise
No collection is complete without the classic Number 8 Turquoise. When most people think of Turquoise a piece of Number 8 is what pops into their mind. With it's beautiful blues and distinctive spiderwebbing this is the poster child for American Turquoise. It was first mined in Eureka County Nevada in the mid 1920's but Turquoise production ceased in 1976 with the discovery of large gold deposits.
Galilea Hachita Turquoise
Mined in the Little Hatchet mountains West of the town of Hachita in Southwest New Mexico. This mine produces very beautiful blue to light blue and green Turquoise. These stones yield stunning ribbon cuts with black and caramel colored host rock. Quickly becoming one of my very favorite stones to work with.
